Victoria Legal Aid


Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) helps people with their legal problems. VLA focuses on helping and protecting the rights of socially and economically disadvantaged Victorians. VLA can help in areas of criminal law, family law and some civil law matters. Our services include legal representation, information over the phone, free booklets and workshops, a public law library and legal advice by appointment and at most courts and tribunals.

Federation of Community Legal Centres The Federation is the peak body for over 50 Victorian community legal centres (CLCs). CLCs are independent community organisations that provide free legal services to the public.

Law Institute Victoria

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state's peak body for lawyers and those who work with them in the legal sector. The LIV's purpose is to be a dynamic leader and innovator of the legal profession; support and inform members; raise the profile and standing of the legal profession; and advocate justice for all
.

Victoria Law Foundation 

Victoria Law Foundation is a not-for-profit, community benefit organisation providing legal information through grants, publications and education programs. The Foundation is an independent statutory body funded by the Legal Services Board Public Purpose Fund.

The Victorian Bar The Victorian Bar is Victoria's professional association for lawyers practicing solely as barristers. The Victorian Bar serves both the general public and its barrister members.

The Public Interest Law Clearing House (VIC) Inc. (PILCH) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which is committed to furthering the public interest, improving access to justice and protecting human rights. PILCH does this by facilitating pro bono legal services to Victorian individuals and organisations in need, and by undertaking law reform, policy work and legal education.
